Total Revenues
207 Banksy Prints sold during Q1 of 2021, for a total of GBP 18,860,268 (USD 26,116,825), a record for any quarter at auction. This compares to: 78 prints sold for GBP 2,646,341 during Q1 of 2020, and 173 prints sold for GBP 15,610,091 during Q4 of 2020.
Signed Vs Unsigned Prints
91 signed prints sold during Q1 of 2021 for a total of GBP 11,523,197.
The average value of signed prints continues to increase, but at a slower pace, to reach an average value of GBP 126,629.
116 unsigned prints sold during Q1 of 2021 for a total of GBP 7,337,071.
The average value of unsigned prints shows a decrease in Q1 of 2021 from GBP 70,655 in Q4 of 2020 to GBP 63,251 in Q1 of 2021, which represents a decrease of around 10.5%.
Market Shares
Sotheby’s is taking the lead on the market for Banksy Prints thanks to its sale of Girl with Balloon (Gold AP).
Forum Auctions remains the leading auction house for Banksy prints in number of prints sold.
