Graffiti Area

Year: 2003
Location: Cargo Nightclub, Shoreditch, London

Graffiti Area, also known as Guard Dog, is a mockery of the police and the authorities, depicting a policeman and his poodle on patrol in a designated graffiti area.
It has been painted in the courtyard of the Cargo nightclub in London, together with another celebrated Banksy wall entitled His Master’s Voice.

Cargo, a well-known venue on Rivington Street in the middle of Shoreditch, in London, is built inside an old railway tunnel showcasing murals from many urban artists. Acclaimed as a local masterpiece, Banksy’s work has been protected by perspex for about 15 years now and crowds still gather to see it.
