In the spirit of Christmas, Banksy created a new mural bringing attention to homelessness.
In a video posted on the artist’s Instagram, a man named Ryan lays down on a bench that has been transformed into a sleigh with the addition of two reindeers painted on the adjacent wall. The video has been seen over 3 million times within 24 hours.
A rendition of “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” plays in the background as Ryan dozes off.
The work appeared on Vyse Street in Birmingham, in Central England.

The Jewellery Quarter Development Trust (JQDT) said the work was “important to protect.”
and placed some barriers in front of the mural.
In the caption, Banksy wrote
“God bless Birmingham.
In the 20 minutes we filmed Ryan on this bench passers-by gave him a hot drink,
two chocolate bars and a lighter – without him ever asking for anything.”
Within hours of its Instagram unveiling, someone leapt over the barriers and sprayed red noses on the two reindeers, in the spirit of Christmas…
