Any Person Found, 2011
Edition: 15
Screenprint, emulsion and pencil on board
Size: 29×42 cm (11 1/2 x 16 1/2 inches)
Signed and numbered on the reverse

Created in 2011, Any Person Found showcases Banksy’s signature satire and sharp critique of the art world. Mimicking the style of an official warning sign, it flips expectations with a sly punchline: instead of being reported to the police, graffiti artists will be sent to an art dealer.

With deadpan humor, Banksy exposes the irony of how society, once quick to criminalize street artists, now eagerly embraces, commodifies, and monetizes their rebellion. The piece blurs the boundaries between outlaw and celebrated artist, forcing viewers to reflect on questions of authenticity, hypocrisy, and the art market’s insatiable appetite for subversion.
