STREET WORKS

Banksy’s artistic journey began on the streets, where walls, bridges, buildings and forgotten urban spaces became his canvas. Many of these murals have since disappeared, while others have been preserved, removed or entered the art market as independent works. Although their stories and legal circumstances often differ, they all share the same origin: they began life as public street art.

This section documents those works that have appeared on the secondary market after being removed from their original locations. Our purpose is neither to authenticate nor to assess ownership, but simply to record and study an important chapter in Banksy’s artistic legacy. Each work is presented within its historical and artistic context, allowing collectors, researchers and enthusiasts to better understand its place within the evolution of the artist’s oeuvre.

As with all street works, Pest Control Office does not authenticate or issue Certificates of Authenticity for murals or works removed from walls. Nevertheless, we believe these works remain an important and fascinating part of Banksy’s body of work, reflecting the very environment in which his artistic language was first conceived.
