Auction Summary

24 Banksy Originals sold at auction in 2019 for a total of USD 20,689,935 as compared to a total of USD 8,881,831 in 2018 (with 20 lots sold). This includes 6 Banksy editions works that sold for a total of USD 920,995.
 
The leading lot of 2019 is Devolved Parliament, which broke the record for the highest price paid at auction for a Banksy artwork at Sotheby’s, in London, on 3 October 2019, when it sold for GBP 9,879,500 (USD 12,243,772).
 
Sotheby’s remains the leading auction house by far for Banksy Originals in 2019, as it sold 9 lots for a total of USD 14,354,770. Christie’s sold 6 lots, for a total of USD 2,994,438.
 
The market for Banksy Originals is largely centered in London, as 7 lots sold in London for a total of USD 14,667,821. Hong-Kong is now in second position with 9 lots sold for a total of USD 3,205,068.
